The Short Road to 1.0


Since the first Road to 1.0 post, the game has doubled in size. I had mentioned my novel and NaNoWriMo in that post, and I think this problem is really just how all creative efforts go. A lot of features and improvements have been done because players have engaged me on them, and I appreciate all of that and used it to drive improvement. I'm thankful, and it's great to see the game succeed. I hope everyone decides to continue supporting me, especially through this tough time.

However, the game can't be improved forever. There has to be a limit, and I'd like to move onto Isle of Power, since this game is its core. 

So: What's really left?

Combat: 

Not including a few remaining improvements balancing things to combat, it's done. 50 moves is a lot, and I think it's coming time to port it all over to IOP. IOP will be a better game. Period. All future combat-related stuff will be post-1.0. Hopefully, IOP's stuff will flow backwards to this game and The Opal of Narsine (which itself is due for a big update).

Events and Event Overhaul: 

There's about 9 events that I'd like to finish out and include in the game for 1.0. I'd like to have at least 3 more traps, but realistically I want to finish the events already in the game and polish them to satisfaction.

Content:

Endings, explorations, chats, defeats, victories. These are all in the game, and most of them are okay or already finished, but I would like to give them a little more to them. This is the very difficult thing standing between 0.9.x and 1.0.0. I want it done next month, ideally.

And that's it. Just Events and Content finishing. I'm happy with the additions and changes I've made. There's nice pictures coming as I can do them, but they are on a "when I can afford to" basis.
