The Home Stretch

In lieu of an update this week, I'm going to talk a bit about a few things and get motivated and organized to bring this one home.

It's been the most difficult year of my life, so far. It's not over - not even close. My games, my games, and my games keep me living and pushing.  Let me tell you:  homelessness really sucks.

Let's talk about where the project is and where I want it for release:

Right now, the only things I feel that are needed now are artwork and the remaining scenes that I've been wanting to do for months. I need way more money for artwork - or I need fans to donate what is needed. I can't do much about that. The remaining scenes are hard, but I think I'm going to have to accept that there has to be a minimum "doneness" to achieve because I am very prone to continuous improvement. That's what I'm going to do. The Opal of Narsine and Isle of Power are waiting for attention, but I also owe it to everyone to take this thing home and get it where I wanted it to be.

SO: after this week of busy-ness and Real Life tasks, I'm going to knock out those scenes to a minimum doneness, remove the WIP stuff, and call it. Complete the 1.0.0 tasks, and release.

With 1.0.0, there will be an increase of price in order to increase profit and help fund additional artwork. While I wait on that, a lot of code is going to be ported to Isle of Power, and that project will eventually be opened.

The cost of Isle of Power is going to be higher. It's a larger game, I need way more art for it, and I intend to put more technology and gameplay into it. I need the money. (I REALLY need the money.) Considering I ask for a one-time payment instead of what other people do with these games, I think it's only fair.

To summarize - August-September Development plan:

  • Victories and Defeats to minimum completion
  • Final improvement passes to descriptive paragraphs and passages
  • Last pass to remaining chats and descriptions.
  • Release tasks
