Mind and Willpower Development


Let's talk about what's left so far for Mind and Willpower - my goals for 1.1.0:

Today, I just internally converted all tease damage to damage your willpower instead of hitpoints. This probably breaks more than everything, but that's how we add things to games.

The goal of doing this work here first is that DoP's system is already more simple than IoP, which has already had a lot of work done to improve the base mechanics. I'm now developing two different systems on a fundamental level, so Dungeon of Power has to take a back seat; here's what that means for this game:

  • For the time being, no abilities will cost willpower. They will continue costing techpoints.
  • For the time being, resistances and partial damage are not a priority. 
  • The immediate goal for balance is to ensure willpower health and willpower damage have decent parity with hitpoints and health damage.

As well, I still have a lot of descriptions to write, including the mind growth, mind short descriptions, and similar content. This probably won't take long (Probably).

As an extra note: I've learned that folks are unable to do payments via Stripe/CC. I'm actually surprised at this, since I thought CC processing was done through paypal this whole time. Wow. I'm embarrassed! That's very limiting, so I will try to get set up with Stripe as soon as I can.
