Development Report - End of Fall 2025


It's that time again - but this time, there's a little more to say for Isle of Power's development progress this season: 

  • OHYAD's GUI progress has been ported over, meaning that Isle of Power will have a functioning inventory as well as potentially sharing some capabilities with OHYAD.
  • A lot of work has been done on images and presentation. This new understanding will help me work on combat and other features and make the game a more polished experience.
  • A lot of work was done on abilities and items - making the task of the CPU rivals selecting moves and making decisions a bit easier.
  • As I've mentioned, I've decided to simplify growth for the sake of visual consistency. Finishing that will help me figure out what to do for more spicy growth scenes - no matter when they ought to occur, like when you hand someone something powerful.

Not as much progress as the other projects, but progress regardless. I want to get something decisive done with OHYAD before returning to the difficult work with Isle of Power, but with each little breakthrough - I get the power to do more work that makes the game feel more complete.

Looking into winter 2025/2026 - I would like to do even more image work and script work, but what I really want progress on is the music. 

Most of IOP's soundtrack is still in the "bits and pieces" phase of things, but I would like input as to the quality and vibe of the soundtrack, now that I have a lot more capability. Hardware Synth Orchestral?  16-bit era ROMPLER?
