Development Report - End of Summer
It's been a little while, so I thought I'd update everyone on how the game is going. This is a short and sweet report - for more details, you can become a Patreon subscriber and support all of my projects and creative work.
Project-wide Programming
A lot of programming. File count exploded. I implemented as much as I could from Dungeon of Power. It will all absolutely work even better than in TWINE/Sugarcube.
Project-wide Art and Content
There's currently around 40 locations. I think I may hit 50, since some quests and content might require more.
Ren'Py-related Programming
This is a big priority, as this is very reusuable code. Animations, transitions, narrative and presentation stuff.
Items
There are about 131 items currently planned for the game, and I doubt that will be the end of it. I think I may have to settle for making my own blender renders of items, which I hope doesn't make me sick to my own stomach. Cheap 3D aesthetics are...yeah...
Enemies
There are currently 14 battle encounters in the game. I'm definitely not done adding and working on these, and I am programming them to support the evolution feature that I wanted originally.
Status Effects
There are currently about 20 status effects in the game. I'm satisfied with this amount, and will complete the programming for their effects soon, if I haven't already. I have an eye towards balancing these out, so I'm proceeding carefully.
Weather and Simulation Stuff
After getting as much from Dungeon of Power into logic, I explored and outlined a lot of the procedures that were planned from the very beginning. This game should be difficult and surprising, and that's what I'm going for.
Development Outlook For Fall
As the season changes, so does my strategy and priorities. I want to work on more music. I want to save for a new MIDI Controller and FLStudio in order to produce better stuff.
As a comment: I emphasize that I'm a humble dev that really does need money. I want to drive towards a demo/prototype within a reasonable timeframe. I'm NOT running The Patreon Early Access Hustle. This is not an AI-Generated Content game, and this is not a DAZ Poser game. I charge people once, and they're done. Anything extra is extra via tips, or Patreon, and because of this - I absolutely need that stuff. Until some great job presents itself to me, this is what I do, now - and I do it with the hopes of making really good games and stories. Even if they have to be naughty.
